Ronald McDonald House Charities Toronto (RMHC Toronto) is a “home away from home” for seriously ill children and their families, keeping everyone together when they need each other most. The RMHC Toronto encompasses a House for 81 families in downtown Toronto and Family Rooms in hospitals across the Greater Toronto Area, providing a place for families to heal better together.

The project required to use existing company branding to create a fully responsive website for the Ronald McDonald organization that speaks specifically regarding the housing initiative for the parents and families of the sick children. The aim of the website was to position itself as an accommodation opportunity in contrast to the other charity initiative websites already established by the organization, to share their stories, and to enlist coverage from the media and gain support from the local community.

Homepage

The primary focus of the homepage and the website as a whole is to drive donations via a persistent donation button located above the top menu, in addition to it being imbedded within the appropriate interior content pages. The site design is driven by the effective imagery of the housing interior and exterior, as well as the inspiring stories, to demonstrate the positive impact RMHC has had on the families in need.

Overview Pages

The goal of the overview pages is to increase online engagement of the target audience: donors, families and friends of those staying in the house, staff, and corporate partners. Each overview page is designed to raise awareness of the impact, the financial needs of the organization, and to educate the public further regarding RMHC Toronto services.
